The LM258 series is equivalent to half of an LM224. In single supply applications, they outperform standard operational amplifiers by operating within a voltage range of 3.0V to 32V with one-fifth the quiescent current of the MC1741 per amplifier. Additionally, their common mode input range includes the negative supply, eliminating the need for external biasing components, and their output voltage range includes the negative power supply voltage.
