Based on Quad Operational Amplifier designs, these dual operational amplifiers offer low power consumption, a wide common mode input voltage range, and compatibility with single or split supply operation. The LM358 series is equivalent to half of an LM324. In single supply applications, they outperform standard operational amplifiers by operating within a voltage range of 3.0V to 32V with one-fifth the quiescent current of the MC1741 per amplifier. Additionally, their common mode input range includes the negative supply, eliminating the need for external biasing components, and their output voltage range includes the negative power supply voltage.

Drawing upon circuit designs refined for Quad Operational Amplifiers, these dual operational amplifiers showcase minimal power consumption, an extended common mode input voltage range reaching ground/VEE, and the ability to operate on either single or split supplies. The LM358 series is functionally equivalent to half of an LM324.

These amplifiers offer numerous advantages over conventional operational amplifier types in single supply scenarios. They can function with supply voltages as low as 3.0V or as high as 32V, boasting quiescent currents approximately one-fifth of those associated with the MC1741 (on a per-amplifier basis). The common mode input range encompasses the negative supply, thereby obviating the need for external biasing components in many applications. Additionally, the output voltage range includes the negative power supply voltage.
