CA 3140
The CA3140A and CA3140 are integrated circuit operational amplifiers combining high voltage PMOS and bipolar transistors on a single chip. These BiMOS amplifiers feature gate-protected PMOS transistors in the input circuit, ensuring high input impedance, low input current, and fast performance. They operate within a 4V to 36V supply voltage range for single and dual supply setups. Internally phase-compensated, they provide stable unity gain follower operation and offer access terminals for additional frequency roll-off with external capacitors. With PMOS transistors in the input stage, they support common mode input voltage down to 0.5V below the negative supply terminal, ideal for single supply applications. The output stage includes built-in protection against load terminal short-circuiting. Rated for operation up to ±18V, they serve various high-voltage applications efficiently.

Based on Quad Operational Amplifier designs, these dual operational amplifiers offer low power consumption, a wide common mode input voltage range, and compatibility with single or split supply operation. The LM358 series is equivalent to half of an LM324. In single supply applications, they outperform standard operational amplifiers by operating within a voltage range of 3.0V to 32V with one-fifth the quiescent current of the MC1741 per amplifier. Additionally, their common mode input range includes the negative supply, eliminating the need for external biasing components, and their output voltage range includes the negative power supply voltage.
